About Pierre

Pierre was born in the early/mid 1940s in the United Kingdom, and moved

to France when he was 12 when his parents separated, moving to his

mother's hometown. Although he had trouble with the language and some

parts of the culture, he managed to fit in relatively well, at least well enough

to not get bullied.

When he was 14 an American boy his age (author's note: referred to as

"The Painter") moved to the town, they were very good friends until he

tragically died when Pierre was 16. He was consumed by grief for years

afterwards, and his mother's dismissive attitude didn't help him with

coping, it was also around this time that he got news of his father's death.

There's no doubt that his later teenage years were some of the worst of his

life. He ultimately managed to get his life back on track after rediscovering

his love for the arts, giving him a place to release his emotions. It was also

this rediscovered love that led him to taking a job at the local library. In the

library, Pierre's known for volunteering for more work than anyone else, he

overworks himself in an attempt to have as much control over his life as

possible, so he doesn't face a surprise such as the one from his teen years

ever again.
